On a special day during Eid al-Fitr, a heartwarming gathering took place at our small library in Rayihanle, Turkey. 📚🌟 The event marked the beginning of a new initiative aimed at introducing early childhood reading to families. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Six parent-child pairs participated, recognizing the immense potential of this endeavor for their children’s development. 📖🌱 In a world where early childhood reading is well-established in many regions, this initiative aimed to bring the transformative power of books to Rayihanle. 🌍💫

 

During the event, the SSSP (Small School Support Project) provided cloth books for the babies to explore, emphasizing the importance of tactile experiences for sensory development. 👶✨ The mothers were encouraged to engage their babies in flipping over and lifting their heads, which contributes to the strengthening of their neck and back muscles. 💪📚 Beyond physical development, the significance of cultivating a reading habit was emphasized. The event coincided with the Muslim Eid holiday, where children were often seen playing with toy guns. This prompted a discussion on the importance of exposing children to alternative experiences and the value of reading as a means of finding answers and happiness. 📚❤️
