💧🌱 From Idlib to Damascus: A Filtered Water Initiative Reaches More Children

Following its experience in Idlib, the Filtered Water Bottle Initiative has continued its journey, this time reaching Damascus and students attending the computer course at the Temporary Care Center for Children Without Parental Care.

Through a collaboration between SSSP and Aquacendo LightUp Filtered Bottle, students received filtered water bottles equipped with solar-powered lights. The initiative brings together everyday practicality, access to cleaner drinking water, and awareness of sustainability.

A Simple Idea With a Meaningful Impact

The initiative was designed to be more than simply providing students with a new water bottle.

By introducing children to filtered water bottles, the project created an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of safe drinking water while showing how practical technology can address everyday needs.

For the students, the bottles became a useful resource that connected an everyday necessity with a broader message about health, sustainability, and the role technology can play in improving daily life.

Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom

The initiative reached students participating in the computer course at the Temporary Care Center for Children Without Parental Care, where they are developing new skills and taking their first steps into the digital world.

For SSSP, supporting children goes beyond education alone. It also means paying attention to their health, well-being, and everyday needs.

By combining educational opportunities with practical initiatives, SSSP continues to create experiences that support students both inside and outside the classroom.

Continuing the Journey

The initiative marks another step in the journey of the filtered water bottle project, expanding from Idlib to Damascus and reaching more students along the way.

This continuation reflects SSSP’s commitment to developing initiatives that create practical and meaningful impact in children’s daily lives while connecting education, technology, health, and sustainability.

As the initiative continues, SSSP hopes to reach more children and introduce them to ideas and solutions that can contribute to a healthier and brighter future.

A Shared Commitment

SSSP extends its sincere thanks to Aquacendo and everyone who contributed to bringing this initiative to the students.

Through collaboration and practical ideas, initiatives like this demonstrate that meaningful change does not always begin with something large. Sometimes, it can begin with something as simple as a bottle of water and the opportunity to help a child understand its value.

From Idlib to Damascus, the initiative continues to carry a message of health, knowledge, sustainability, and hope, one student at a time.
