Sometimes, the bridge between education and a future career begins with a single opportunity to step into the professional world.
SSSP was invited to SYNC’26 in Damascus, an event bringing together technology companies, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and professionals contributing to Syria’s growing technology ecosystem.
But this time, we wanted to share the opportunity with those who matter most to our mission: our students.
For the first time, SSSP organized a technology field trip, giving students the chance to move beyond the classroom, meet professionals, explore industries, and discover where their skills could take them.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Throughout the event, students explored different companies, learned about emerging technologies, and engaged in conversations with professionals working across the technology and business sectors.
They also had the opportunity to meet ministers, business leaders, and influential figures from Syria’s technology community.
For many students, this was a valuable introduction to the professional environment, offering a closer look at career paths, industry expectations, and opportunities they could pursue in the future.
More importantly, it allowed them to see themselves as part of that future.
Building the Bridge Between Education and Employment
This visit reflects the vision behind the SSSP Bridge Project, an initiative designed to help students move from learning and skill development toward professional experience and employment opportunities.
At SSSP, we believe that education should not end with completing a course or receiving a certificate.
Students also need opportunities to understand the job market, connect with professionals, discover potential employers, and gain the confidence to take their next steps.
By introducing our students to real professional environments, we hope to help close the gap between education and employment.
Because talent needs more than training. It also needs visibility, connections, and access to opportunity.
Connections That Create Opportunities
Beyond the presentations and exhibitions, the most meaningful moments came through conversations.
Students had the chance to ask questions, exchange ideas, and connect with people whose experiences could help them better understand their own professional journeys.
For SSSP, these interactions represent the beginning of something bigger: building relationships between young talent and the organizations, companies, and professionals who can help shape their future.
A First Step, Not the Last
We extend our sincere appreciation to the SYNC’26 organizing team for their kind invitation and for creating a space that encourages innovation, collaboration, and meaningful connections.
This experience marked an important milestone for our students and for the SSSP Bridge Project.
As we continue developing educational and professional opportunities, we look forward to connecting more students with industry leaders, companies, and potential employers.
Our first technology field trip may have ended, but the connections and possibilities it opened are only beginning.
At SSSP, our goal remains the same: to help young people turn what they learn into what they can become.
