On a sunny Sunday afternoon in May, students, parents, volunteers, and educators gathered once again for the SSSP Eid Al-Adha Family Gathering at Anatolia Garden in Reyhanlı.

There were no performances to prepare for and no exams to worry about. Instead, the day focused on something equally important: creating space for the SSSP community to reconnect, celebrate, and enjoy time together.

Children filled the garden with energy and laughter while parents and teachers shared conversations in a relaxed atmosphere. For many families, it was an opportunity to meet friends they had not seen in months and to strengthen the relationships that have grown through years of learning and support.

One of the first things guests saw upon arrival was the SSSP Family Tree, a symbolic installation that reflects a belief at the heart of the organization: SSSP is more than an educational project—it is a community.

Throughout the years, SSSP has worked to provide quality educational opportunities while building an environment where students, families, volunteers, and teachers can grow together. Education remains at the center of our mission, but the relationships formed through that mission are equally meaningful.

The gathering served as a reminder that community is built not only through shared experiences, but through shared values—supporting one another, encouraging growth, and celebrating achievements together.

Over time, these gatherings have become one of the most cherished traditions within the SSSP community. Held every six months, they offer families a chance to reconnect and reflect on the journey they continue to share. One parent described the event as a place where “warmth and connection cannot be found elsewhere,” a sentiment echoed by many participants throughout the day.

As SSSP enters its third year, the community continues to expand while remaining connected by a common purpose. From Taiwan to Türkiye, across more than 8,400 kilometers, students, families, volunteers, and supporters remain united through education, care, and human connection.

In a rapidly changing world, moments like these remind us why community matters. They remind us that learning is not only about classrooms and lessons—it is also about belonging, mutual support, and the relationships that help us move forward together.

The Eid Al-Adha Family Gathering was a celebration of exactly that: a growing community connected by hope, shared values, and the belief that education has the power to bring people together.
