Spring Song School

The Rukban camp is located in a remote area, where the people living there have faced a siege since 2014. As a result, the residents are experiencing significant challenges in accessing essential services like healthcare, education, and aid.

To support the children in the Rukban camp, the Small School Support Project (SSSP) led by Lara Tseng has taken on the responsibility of ensuring the continuity of their education. The SSSP covers teacher salaries and provides nutrition support for students attending the eight schools in the camp, which have a total of 1,400 students.

One of the schools within the Rukban camp is the Spring Song School, which is also located in the Rukban camp with a number of 285 students, It is considered to be the biggest school in the Rukban camp, with a staff number of 15 teachers who helps this process of educating kids inside of a sieged area possible, these kids are being received a good quality education, with the capabilities that are existing in the Rukban camp right now, with outstanding teachers, that shown us a extraordinary collaboration to ensure the best experience for the students inside of the Rukban camp.

We help the teachers with a monthly salary to support them and enhance the chances of education survival inside the Rukban camp, and we hope to secure the students’ nutrition at this school and the other 6 schools in the near future! The SSSP’s ongoing support for the Spring Song School and other schools in the Rukban camp has enabled them to allocate resources for essential educational materials. This has fostered a sense of pride and ownership among the students, nurturing their dreams and aspirations.

The SSSP has a comprehensive support plan for each school in the Rukban camp, which includes providing regular teacher salaries, nutrition supplements for students, yearly budgets for stationery and educational resources, and, if necessary, the reconstruction of school campuses. Through the tireless efforts of Lara Tseng, generous sponsors, and dedicated individuals, the SSSP aims to create an environment where education can flourish, empowering the children of the Rukban camp to build a better future for themselves and their communities.
