📌 The Phonics Journey in Syria: Where Children Learn with Their Hearts ✨

“Can we have more time in class?”
That’s what our Phonics students in Syria asked last week. Not because they had to, but because they wanted to. ❤

For the first time ever in Syrian communities, a professional Phonics method combined with storytelling is being introduced to children. This isn’t just about ABCs — it’s about unlocking voices, building confidence, and giving children the tools to tell their own stories in English.

🌟 What happens inside a Phonics class?
Children learn daily routines, practice at home, and proudly send videos of their homework to earn points 🎥⭐. They laugh, they sing, they read out loud — and most importantly, they believe that English belongs to them too.

📊 From a small beginning of just 6 or 7 children, today we’ve grown to:

12 groups with 9–12 students each

15–20 more children waiting for their turn

1 hour every week, and yet their passion makes it feel like not enough!

🌱 Behind each class are the unsung heroes:
5 local volunteers leading weekly sessions
2 trained teachers guiding the method
3 assistants supporting every step
— all empowered and trained through SSSP.

This is not just teaching.
This is planting seeds of empowerment.
Every sound they pronounce, every story they retell, every “Can I learn more?” is proof that education is taking root.

Our team may still be young, but our dream is big — because we know one truth: Syrian children, especially girls, cannot be stopped. 💜

Through education, knowledge becomes strength.
Through storytelling, children discover their voices.
Through persistence, a new future is being written — one letter, one word, one sentence at a time.

And when a child says, “I want to learn more” — that is when education becomes real. 🌍✨
