From April 29 to May 2, 2025, the Small School Support Project (SSSP) proudly participated in the Global Youth Leadership Program UN-SDGs Bootcamp & Forum in Bangkok, Thailand. Represented by Ibrahim from Yemen, SSSP joined youth delegates from over 30 countries to advocate for SDG 1: No Poverty and SDG 4: Quality Education—two missions central to our work.

🎶 An Opening Ceremony Full of Spirit and Color
The forum kicked off with lively Thai music and traditional dance performances, followed by a dramatic flag march by university scouts representing each participating nation. The energetic atmosphere united youth from around the world in purpose and pride.

🧠 Policy Simulation: Solving Global Challenges with Limited Resources
Shortly after, participants were split into five sector-based groups—government, finance, and investment included—for a strategic policy simulation. Ibrahim joined the “government” team, where young leaders discussed ways to tackle SDG challenges despite limited funding and infrastructure. Many practical, creative solutions emerged from this exercise.

🎨 Heart and Humanity through Art
During a session themed “Languages of Love,” participants created collaborative posters using Taiwanese cultural symbols. Though everyone used the same materials, each artwork reflected its group’s unique emotions and creativity, reminding us that change begins in the heart.

♻️ Simulation and Hackathon: Building Solutions Together
In the “2030 SDG Simulation Game,” participants traded, negotiated, and collaborated using limited resources to achieve sustainable development goals. Later, a hackathon-style workshop encouraged teams to brainstorm realistic, cross-sector solutions based on what they had observed during the program.

🍃 SDGs in Everyday Life: A Local Market Visit
On the day before the final presentation, the youth visited a traditional Bangkok market, discovering how sustainability is practiced daily—from eco-friendly packaging to street-level recycling. This hands-on experience showed that SDGs aren’t just policy—they’re personal.

🗣️ United Nations Hall: SSSP’s First International Stage
The final day culminated in a deeply emotional moment: Ibrahim stood in the historic United Nations Hall and delivered SSSP’s first-ever international presentation. Despite his nerves, his words were clear and heartfelt. He shared how SSSP builds bridges of opportunity in marginalized regions, proving that even small voices can carry great power.

🤝 A Promise for the Future
With support from the Chinese Youth Growth Foundation (中華少年成長基金會), SSSP didn’t just attend—we connected, contributed, and inspired. This event was more than a milestone. It was a promise to continue empowering displaced youth, advocating for equity, and making the SDGs a living reality.

Let’s stay connected. Let’s keep growing. 🌱
